What We Believe
The Scriptures
We believe in the inerrant (without error), verbal (each word), plenary (every word), infallible (will not fail), inspired Word of God. 2Tim 3:16 Prov. 30:5 It is the first and final authority in all matters. We further believe that we have it completely and accurately preserved for the English speaking world in the King James Version. Ps. 12:6,7
Salvation
Titus 3:5 We believe in salvation by grace through faith. A person must repent of his sins Lk 13:3 Prov. 28:13 and accept the payment Christ made for our sins. Rom. 5:6-8 He then must call out to God for forgiveness and salvation. Rom 10:13 Once a person is saved, he cannot lose that salvation. Eph. 4:30 1Jn. 2:1 Jn. 10:28
The Trinity
We believe that there is one God, who manifests Himself in three different persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Deut 6:14 1Jn. 5:7
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, but died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. 2Pet 3:9 We believe that after his resurrection He ascended into Heaven where He sat down at the right hand of the Father as Head of the church, and there makes intercession for the saved. Heb. 7:25 At any moment. Christ will personally come in the air to rapture His saints and to reward their service. 1Thess. 4:16,17 2Tim 4:8
The Holy Spirit
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. Jn. 15:26 Jn. 16:14 We believe that every saved person is forever (Eph. 4:30 Jn. 14:16) indwelt by the Holy Spirit as Comforter, Teacher, and Guide; and He empowers them to live a godly life. We are filled with the Spirit as we fully yield to Him, and we are then empowered for service. Acts 1:8
We believe that, through the Holy Spirit, we all given spiritual gifts, which are abilities given to enable us to perform a function effectively within the church. Eph. 4:11-16 We believe that the sign gifts, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing, were temporary. Once the written Word of God was completed, these were no longer needed. 1Cor. 13:8-10
The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ. Eph. 1:22,23 The church is an organized congregation of baptized believers; who propagate the gospel, observe the ordinances of Christ, and are governed by His Laws. We believe the two ordinances to be observed by the church are Scriptural baptism (by immersion) and the Lord's Supper. These are not, however, a means of salvation. Matt 28:19 Lk 22:19,20 We believe that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, Acts 14:23 and that its Head is Jesus Christ. Eph. 1:22
